Physiotherapy for Back Pain

Physiotherapy for Back Pain

Physiotherapy for back pain in Muttenz

Back pain is very common – but only around two percent of all back complaints need surgery.

For almost all back problems, the combination of physiotherapy and targeted exercise is the treatment of choice. Movement is the best medicine: discs and joints are nourished mainly through movement.

By the way: 50–80% of people between 30 and 60 have wear in their lumbar spine without knowing it. Such changes are normal – much like wrinkles in the skin – and often do not explain pain. X-ray or MRI images therefore often do not show the actual source of pain.

Our approach

Individual manual therapy assessment, advice and treatment of acute and chronic back complaints according to the latest science.

We work in a hypothesis-driven way and complement your doctor’s diagnosis with an ICF-based analysis of structural and functional disorders.

It is important to us that you understand your complaints and can actively do something about them.

For diagnosis and progress monitoring we use proven measures and questionnaires such as STarT Back, Oswestry, FABQ and HADS.

Conditions we treat

We treat the full spectrum of back complaints: acute back pain and lumbago, chronic back pain, vertebral or rib restrictions, pain radiating into the legs or arms (e.g. sciatica), disc herniations and nerve compression, rheumatic conditions such as ankylosing spondylitis or Scheuermann’s disease, and complaints after surgery or accidents.

Your therapist puts together individually tailored treatment so that you are pain-free and resilient again quickly.
