General Terms and Conditions (GTC)
These terms govern the relationship between 4 Balance Zentrum für Physiotherapie und Training (hereinafter “4 Balance”) and its clients (hereinafter “the Client”) with regard to the services booked. By booking an appointment or taking out a training membership, the Client accepts these General Terms and Conditions; the current version is available on our website at all times.
4 Balance treats all personal data confidentially and in accordance with the applicable Swiss data protection legislation. Patient data belong to the Client and will be released at any time upon request. For administration and invoicing purposes, data may be exchanged with the therapists involved and with external partners such as physicians, medical examiners of the insurers (Vertrauensärzte) and software service providers.
Booked appointments are binding and are reserved exclusively for the Client. If an appointment is missed, or is cancelled less than 24 hours (25-minute appointments) or less than 36 hours (appointments of 40 minutes or longer) in advance, the Client shall be liable to pay a fee equal to the corresponding treatment fee.
For treatments prescribed by a physician and covered by the health insurer, invoicing is made directly to the insurer (“tiers payant” system).
Copy of invoice: The Federal Health Insurance Act (KVG) provides that patients receive a copy of the therapy invoice. You will receive this automatically by e-mail, provided we have your e-mail address and mobile number. Otherwise, we will gladly print it out on paper upon request.
Private treatments or costs not reimbursed must be borne by the Client. Invoices are payable within 30 days; payment on site is possible in cash, by card or via TWINT.
In the event of outstanding premiums with the health insurer (suspension of benefits), or in the absence of a valid prescription or accident details, you shall be liable to pay for the services rendered.
In the event of late payment, reminder fees will be charged, which are to be borne by the Client. The reminder fees are as follows:
-
- Reminder: CHF 10
- Reminder: CHF 20
10 days after the third reminder, the case will be assigned automatically and without further notice to an external debt collection agency.
All costs arising from debt collection shall be borne by the defaulting Client; from the time of assignment, 4 Balance no longer has any influence over these.
Should an insurer reclaim payments already made, the Client is responsible for covering these amounts and for settling the matter directly with the insurer. 4 Balance shall not make any refunds in this respect.
Should a health, accident or disability insurer (IV) refuse to cover the costs in whole or in part, or fail to issue a cost approval, the Client shall bear full financial responsibility for all treatment costs.
It is advisable to obtain confirmation of cost coverage from the competent insurer before treatment begins and to clarify any uncertainties regarding responsibility or the obligation to pay benefits. The absence of a cost approval or pending clarifications shall not release the Client from their obligation to pay the practice.
In addition, it is the Client’s responsibility to obtain in good time any missing medical reports or medical prescriptions that are strictly required for a cost approval to be granted.
Therapy reports prepared by the practice in connection with a necessary assumption of costs, an extension of the treatment authorisation or insurance-related clarifications, and written at the request of the physician or the insurer, may be subject to a charge depending on their scope. These costs will be invoiced to the Client separately.
Treatments are provided in accordance with currently recognised physiotherapeutic and therapeutic standards. However, the success of treatment cannot be guaranteed.

Use of our facilities
On each visit to our centre, please check in with your badge. For Basic memberships, use is limited to 2–3 training sessions per week with a maximum duration of 2 hours per session. Use of our equipment and facilities is at your own risk. We recommend that you take out private liability insurance. Please always follow the instructions of our staff and observe the hygiene regulations and rules of conduct.
During the summer holidays and on weekends with bridge days, the training centre remains closed on Saturday mornings.
Contract term and termination
The term of your contract depends on the membership you have taken out with us and will be renewed automatically if you so wish.
Training suspension
Training may only be suspended upon presentation of a medical certificate. The certificate must clearly state the duration of and reason for the suspension. The membership will be paused for the period stated in the certificate and extended accordingly. Please note that we only grant training suspensions for periods of at least 4–12 weeks.
Liability and insurance
Our liability is limited to cases of gross negligence and wilful intent. We cannot accept any liability for personal belongings and valuables. We also recommend that you take out your own accident insurance.
Exclusion of liability for training-related injuries and pre-existing conditions:
We accept no liability for injuries or damage caused by the training itself or by pre-existing conditions. It is your responsibility to have your state of health assessed by a physician before starting training and to inform us of any relevant pre-existing conditions. Always train within your personal limits and, if in doubt, consult a physician.
The place of jurisdiction for any disputes is Basel, Switzerland, and Swiss law shall apply exclusively.
4 Balance Concepts reserves the right to amend these General Terms and Conditions at any time. The current version is available on our website. Should any individual provision be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.
